Today's Sector
How does the daily work?
Every day, everyone in the world flies the same sector: the same name, suns, planets, nebula, asteroid fields and waves, and some days a black hole. Tap Today's Sector on the title screen to fly it.
You get one run a day. It locks in the moment you launch, even if you quit partway. For unlimited flying, tap Play for a random sector.
When does it reset?
At midnight UTC, for everyone at once. That's 5:00 PM Pacific (8:00 PM Eastern) during daylight saving time, and 4:00 PM Pacific (7:00 PM Eastern) the rest of the year.
The next sector arrives in a few hours.
How do I share my result?
When a daily run ends, tap Share. You get a result line with your score, level, best chain and one square per level: 🟦 a clean level, 🟨 lost a part, 🟥 ejected or lost a life, 💥 where the run ended. It goes wherever you send it, and nowhere else.
Why isn't my score on the global leaderboard?
Global leaderboards come with the Pilot's License and need you to be signed in to Game Center, in your device's Settings under Game Center. Every run posts to the all-time board, and your daily run to today's board as well. Without Game Center, the game keeps your scores on your device.
The Pilot's License
What does it add?
The Pilot's License is a one-time $4.99 in-app purchase (U.S. price; the App Store shows yours). It adds global Game Center leaderboards, daily and all-time, and paint schemes for your ship. The game itself is free without it. No subscription, and it never expires.
How do I restore it on a new device or after reinstalling?
Open Settings in Lunatic Fling (or the Pilot's License screen) and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure the device is signed in to the same Apple Account you bought it with, in the device's Settings under your name, then Media & Purchases.
Can I get a refund?
Apple handles all payments and refunds. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We never see your payment details, so we can't issue refunds directly.
Controls
Touch: stick or buttons
Stick (the default): put your left thumb down anywhere in the lower left and a stick appears. Push to point the ship; push further to thrust, harder for more. On the right: Fire (hold to charge), Shield and Boost. You fly one weapon at a time: the last one you pick up is the one you fire.
Buttons: prefer discrete controls? Choose Settings, then Touch Controls, then Buttons for separate turn-left and turn-right buttons, plus Thrust, Fire, Shield and Boost.

Xbox, PlayStation and MFi controllers work once they're paired with your device in Settings under Bluetooth.

Sound, haptics and screen shake
Where are the sound settings?
In Settings on the title screen (or from the pause menu): turn Music and Effects on or off separately. If your own music or podcast is already playing, the game's music stays quiet and only its sound effects join in.
I don't hear anything
Check that Music and Effects are on in the game's Settings and that your device's volume is up. The game respects your device's Silent Mode, so it stays quiet while Silent Mode is on; turn Silent Mode off to hear it.
Can I turn off vibration or shake?
Yes. Haptics can be turned off, and Screen Shake can be set to Full, Low or Off, both in Settings. If Reduce Motion is on for your device, the game already skips the shake and softens flashes.
Tips
How do I see the tips again?
Each tip shows once, the first time it's useful. To bring them all back, open Help, go to the More tab and tap Show Tips Again.
